Makeup Free Monday - Psychic Surgery
Since I was a kid, I have been interested in the not so mainstream modes of healing. I don’t know if this was because I was always sick and dealt with horrible allergies, asthma and regular cases of bronchitis and I did not seem to get much relief from mainstream Western medicine. I can remember hearing of a psychic healer one time, and I was very curious. Those were pre-internet days, so I read what I could find and put it in the back of my mind.
As I got into adulthood, I became more daring. I remember praying daily for my asthma to go away, and I can say that I have outgrown it, and no longer use daily rescue inhalers. There was also a time that I was told that I would need to have my gallbladder removed, yet it did not resonate with me. I went to an acupuncturist and within 3 treatments I was completely healed. I also found it interesting that insurance would not pay for the treatments which were chump change compared to the expensive surgery that they had approved.
I have also used essential oils for over a decade, and I find they are useful for things like boosting immunity, digestive issues, skin conditions, earaches, and a whole lot of other ailments. I believe that a combination of oils, tinctures, and herbs keep my immune system intact, as I rarely catch colds, or anything else.
When I went through my fire walking certification, I learned that Indian and Hawaiian cultures often used the hot coals to heal themselves too. Often times women would be seen walking across the hot coals, wearing their sarees and stating that the coals were not hot enough because they were not receiving their healing. I also learned that if there is a particular place on one’s foot that “gets kissed” by the fire, that it very well could be associated with a place in one’s body that needs healing. It is recommended that you check a reflexology chart to find out. This has been true for me (I’ll blog about those experiences another time).
Recently, I discovered a Toltec teacher who I was not familiar with. His books and Live discussions really have resonated with me. I picked up one of his books and it actually has psychic surgery in it. I was intrigued by it, but also nervous about doing it. I found it interesting that I had all of the tools, one in particular I obtained years ago, and didn’t know what it was for at the time. Synchronicity!
I was presented with an opportunity to attend a class with this teacher. I jumped at the chance - I was just as excited as I was when I was a kid, if not more! Going through the class I was impressed by all of the testimonials and realized that healing often lies in the beliefs of the one who is seeking the healing, and their readiness to heal. Although, my teacher mentioned that there were many who had come to receive psychic surgery as a last resort, or because their spouse had dragged them to a session. Those individuals not only healed, but also ended up wanting to learn how to facilitate the practice.
I realize that a practice like this sound farfetched and foreign to many. However, I am also a believer that we all have to follow the inner guidance that calls to us. It’s not by accident that I was intrigued by this as a kid and have now come to learn and adopt it into my own healing.
